The Sudanese
American Society in Connecticut SASC
The
Sudanese Society in Connecticut, a non-stock, not for profit
organization registered in the State of Connecticut:
Articles of Incorporation of
The Sudanese American society in Connecticut (SASC)
This corporation is a nonprofit public benefit corporation and is
not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized
under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for public
purposes and for the benefit of the Sudanese-American community
residing in the state of Connecticut.
The specific purposes of this corporation are:
1. To address the issues of concern to the Sudanese-American
residents of the community of the state of Connecticut, including
but not limited to public safety, education, land use, public
facilities and services, commercial revitalization, business
development, social services, immigration, community image and
cultural activities;
2. To provide an open forum for discussion for individuals concerned

3. To act as an advocate for the Sudanese-American residents through
contact with governmental bodies or other agencies or individuals on
issues related to improvement of community welfare;
4. To organize and implement special community and cultural events
deemed of interest to the Sudanese-American residents;
5. To gather and disseminate information to members of our
community;
6. To reduce the progress of community deterioration and
neighborhood tensions and to assist in the elimination of prejudice
and discrimination; and
7. To receive and administer funds from public and private sources
by grant or contract for use in obtaining the purpose for which this
corporation is organized.
